Baseball is back

Assuming it is spring, that means, baseball is back. Marlene is playing her second year of T-Ball. This year her team's name is the "Piranhas". We have actually not been doing much playing, because two of her games were snowed out and one practice was canceled because of rain. Marlene is very motivated and one of the few on the team who have played before. We will see how the season goes.
Last week we went to our first Mariners game of the season. It was a cold rainy night, but at least the roof was closed. Marlene had fun and Amelia was surprisingly neutral. We managed to see half a game! And there is always the radio on the drive home.
Amelia has finally started taking ballet lessons. She has been asking about "ballerina class" since last summer. Finally she is 3 and can take lessons. She is doing very well. It is very exciting. She follows her teachers directions and takes cues from the other kids. Amelia is the youngest, but not shy about showing what she can do.

Will it ever be Spring?

To sum it up: We have had it! We want spring, anything but 40 F and rain. It has been a very long winter. It started in September and it has been dragging on without little breaks. Every other week we even get snow down here in Seattle. So what can you do? Go sledding. One Sunday we actually went up to Snoqualime pass to ride our sleds. Amelia loved it, she was quite fearless. Off course, it is easy to be fearless when mommy is riding with you. Marlene went by herself and got a little scared after a while. After an hour on the slopes we were rewarded with a several hour wait on the freeway, because it is the seasons for avalanches and several had come down that day. So we had to wait until they cleared the road. We had a grand family time in the car.
