Fall Colors

As you have seen from the last few blogs, we are having a beautiful fall. My mother, the girls and I have been walking around the neighborhood and playing a lot in the yard. Here are some pictures.

Getting Pumpkins

It is the time of the year, when everyone goes to get pumpkins. Marlene got to go twice last week. First we went as a family with my mother to our usual farm in Carnation to pick pumpkins. We love this farm, because you actually go with a wheel barrel out into the field and cut the pumpkins off the vines. So there are pumpkins of all sizes and stages of development. It was a beautiful afternoon/evening with lots of sunshine. We even got to see two new calves that were just born a month ago. One of them was trying to eat Marlene's shirt. On Friday it was fieldtrip day for Marlene's class. We went to "the Farm" in Snohomish. They are very specialized in school trips and very well organized. First we got to see a live show of "the 4 little pigs". After that the kids got to go into the barn with the hay maze. Then we patted the baby animals (cats, dogs, bunnies, sheep, goats etc., the whole barnyard. Finally we took a hay wagon ride to the pumpkin field, where everyone got to pick one pumpkin. The kids loved it. Marlene and I had been at this farm before 2 years ago with her Meadowbrook preschool. Then it seemed like chaos to me, but I think I just have gotten more experienced in fieldtrips.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Time is flying! It is fall and in gorgeous weather we have been spending as much time outside as possible. It has been a while since I wrote, so here is just a collage of pictures from the last few weeks. We went to the Greek festival at St. Demetrios, Amelia is active in the garden, and Marlene is having a puppet show for my mother. Amelia tries to do everything her sister does, so now she carries a backpack, when we take Marlene to school.
